In 2013, El Puente held the first Climate Change Leadership Summit in Puerto Rico, leading to the creation of the Enlace Latino de Acción Climática (ELAC) and the signing of 5 Executive Orders by the Governor on climate issues. Now known as El Puente Puerto Rico (EPPR), the program connects social struggles of Puerto Rican communities both on the island and in the diaspora. The organization has led initiatives like climate marches, environmental education programs, and disaster relief efforts, including solar energy projects after hurricanes and earthquakes. El Puente-PR fosters leadership, sustainability, and through grassroots collaboration and innovative solutions.
